WARNING: LOUD AUDIO! My first CG in a while. The room's for another animation I'm working on but I thought i'd make a quick flyby pass which turned into a whole other experiment. The audio mix needs some work. There's some pretty rough camera turns that need smoothing out (the glowBOT is just a windscreen at the moment, I want to build it out into a fully realised vehicle, add running lights, etc. I'm thinking it's like an undersea exploration vehicle using fans to fly (like a cross between a DSV and a dragonflyer). Fairly tempted to go find a plugin that lets you use a joystick to control a flyby camera (I know I had an opensource one for a previous version of MAX) so I can do some more organic flying. I'm very happy with the HUD element (added in post) on the left side, it's exactly what I wanted and is a technique I'm going to re-use in future. The room is looking good, needs a little more furniture and the bookshelf needs populating but overall I'm pretty happy with this. This is the first time i've had global illumination looking really nice in an animation and i'm really happy with the reflections. v2 will include more HUD elements and probably a few more bits and pieces added in post.
