http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo In a brand new series for BBC Two, entrepreneur Alex Polizzi turns her attention to family firms that have reached breaking point. She tackles both their financial failures and domestic dramas and tries to guide them back on to the path to success. From siblings struggling to find common ground to mothers incapable of handing over the reins, Alex must take on the toughest family trials and get them back into the black. As a third generation hotelier of the internationally-renowned Forte family, Alex worked with her mother in the family firm whilst also managing a successful, multi-million pound bakery with her husband. More than most she's aware of the challenges that running a family business brings and understands exactly whats at stake when a family firm starts to struggle. Each week, she'll invest her time, knowledge and expertise in a different family-run firm, identifying their most pressing business shortcomings and forcing them to work as a team to get their house in order. Over six weeks, she'll confront a pair of brothers working at their parents' MOT garage in Manchester; a Northamptonshire bridal-wear shop run by a squabbling mother and daughters team; a family furniture store stick in the past in Leeds; a bakery shop in Padstow run by a domineering mother and her warring children; a part-teashop, part-windmill in Norfolk; and a fancy dress shop in Essex. A proven talent when it comes to turning businesses around, can Alex use her personal experiences to transform family failure into financial success?

Mathewmartialart Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - you have got to be kiddin me. the amount of money we spend a year to pay the bbc to have a tv active and they always claim its for new shows. i havent seen any new shows worthy of the money, and most of the time we are shoved with bloody repeats.

eidothea Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - "Not seen any new shows worthy of the money"? Erm, can I mention great wildlife prgrammes like The Great Barrier Reef and Earthflight, political dramas like Borgen, travels like Sicily Unpacked, dramas like 'Hustle' and not to mention the sensational Sherlock that was on earlier in the year. So what would be in your opinion worthy of the money? (I don't work for the BBC btw, I'm just an admirer)

MrAmad3us Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - *Sigh* After Sherlock it's going to be hard to enjoy anything (T_T)

Mathewmartialart Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - sadly all of them put together still isnt worth the £140+ a year fee, when you gain other channels for free. plus a shit load of programes that are worth my viewing are sadly from the states, australia, canada, which is sad to ee when the uk used to come out with good programming. and just to add, ever notice that the bbc churn out the same crap every bloody xmas/boxingday every year.

TheMorkeable Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - But isn't the idea of channels like the BBC that you get a certain amount of educational programmes and, even more important, unbiased news? Other channels might be free, but most of them are biased, like the whole murdoch imperium. At least, thats the idea behind the fees here in Germany, I always asumed it's the same with the BBC. And btw. other countrys envy you of channels like the BBC. ;)

Mathewmartialart Says:

Jan 23, 2012 - lol unbiased, oh please.i dont watch a lot of the stuff the bbc come up with yet im forced to pay for the fee. and there may be quite a few examples of the bbc not beign unbiased, but for one, they did a piracy article via film with wossy, which had interviews by the mpaa etc stating all the "facts" by them and not a single interview by the general public that actually know whats going on.

geoffphuket Says:
